Carrier Grade. Diverse. Dependable. Total Solution.
For the past 15 years Westelcom has focused on designing and constructing the most highly redundant and scalable fiber network throughout Northern New York. Today, Westelcom’s multi-ringed fiber network expands throughout the 315 and 518 area codes with core time-division multiplexing (TDM) and IP switching located in Plattsburgh, NY and Watertown, NY.
The 625 mile network is diverse and has redundant connectivity to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) in Albany and Syracuse New York offering geographically diverse connectivity to Internet Network Access Points in Montreal, Quebec and Syracuse, NY. In addition to the internet connectivity in Montreal, the company’s network is directly connected to Microsoft, Amazon, and Google’s cloud platforms.
Westelcom’s network contains multiple nodes on its ringed fiber network that provide last-mile fiber access to businesses connecting to its core network. Westelcom has also constructed and currently operates three New York based data centers strategically located in Watertown, Plattsburgh and Syracuse, NY. The Syracuse NY data center is also a carrier neutral colocation facility that allows Westelcom interconnection with national and statewide fiber.
